South-East Asia Tour

Exactly twelve months after making his debut with the Malaysian Philharmonic and the Singapore Symphony, Alexander Shelley this week returns to both orchestras during a short tour of South-Eat Asia. In Singapore he will be joined by soloists Pierre Amoyal (violin) and Yuko Shimizu-Amoyal (viola) for a performance of Bruch’s double concerto (originally for clarinet and viola) and will also be performing Stravinsky’s Firebird

Houston, we have a problem

After having made his debut with the orchestra in April of this year, Alexander Shelley this week returned to the Houston Symphony Orchestra amid the chaos and distress which hurricane Sandy has caused. Quite apart from the tragic consequences on the Eastern Seaboard, the storm also had a direct effect on the travel plans of New York based soloist Augustin Hadelich, who was to perform Bartok’s 2nd Violin Concerto with Shelley and the orchestra. …

Double World Premiere in Nuremberg


Two world premieres in one night awaited the over 2000 visitors to the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra’s recent subscription concert in the Meistersingerhalle.
