For the 9th and final time Alexander will present Europe’s largest classical concert, the Klassik Open Air, with his orchestra the Nuremberg Symphony.
Returning to his old friends of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Alexander will lead a tour programme of Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra, Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez and contemporary composer Leonie Holmes’s “Frond” around the country over the course of the coming week.
A very special project begins this week as Alexander and his father Howard begin rehearsals for two concerts with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in which they will perform all four of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concertos.
