Alexander returns to the National Arts Centre Orchestra this week for a full month of performances in Ottawa and around the country.
In the first of several such concerts over the coming months, Alexander this Sunday bids farewell to the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra’s Sunday subscription audience with a programme of Haydn, Liszt and Tchaikovsky.
On March 30th Alexander Shelley continues his series exploring the works of Sibelius and Prokofiev, this time welcoming the young and dynamic Vadym Kholodenko to join him on the main stage.
This weekend brings with it a particularly special moment as Alexander Shelley and the Nuremberg Symphony tackle Mahler’s mighty 2nd Symphony in two concerts at the Meistersingerhalle.
Alexander’s relationship with Leipzig’s Gewandhaus Orchestra has blossomed over the last few seasons and sees him returning for two subscriptions concerts this week.
Two master instrumentalists will be taking to the stage at Canada’s National Arts Centre during the coming weeks, as the Orchestra presents two virtuosic and richly coloured programmes.
