Over lockdown Alexander Shelley and the Royal Philharmonic have created an ambitious new version of Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra for the socially-distanced era, with every member of the RPO and Alexander recording their parts from their respective homes.

Featuring a brand new narration, written by Alexander and which expands on the original while alluding to the events of the last few months, this new Young Person’s Guide reaches out to audiences that have been unable to enjoy the symphony orchestra in person, guiding them through each section from a fresh perspective.

You can enjoy the original on the RPO’s Facebook page here, their YouTube page here or at Alexander’s YouTube page here.

You an also read Alexander’s interview with Scala Radio about the project here.
