“Symphonic Soundscapes”, the series which Alexander Shelley has curated with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Cadogan Hall this season, continues this week with two further programmes exploring the music of Prokofiev and Sibelius.

Conceived to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution and the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence, the series focuses on the symphonies and concertos of those two seminal composers.

For the January performances Shelley and the RPO will be joined by Chloe Hanslip and Ning Feng, performing Sibelius’ Violin Concerto and Prokofiev’s 1st Violin Concerto respectively. The orchestra will interpret Prokofiev’s 1st and 3rd Symphonies on January 25th and Sibelius’ 1st and 7th Symphony on the 29th.
