Alexander is in Sweden this week at the start of a prolonged tour which sees him travelling straight on to Australia for performances with Sydney Symphony and Tasmanian Symphony, followed by a programme of Ravel and Vivier in Ottawa with Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra (NACO), the third instalment of his ‘New Horizons’ Series with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, the world premiere of Howard Shore’s Guitar Concerto with NACO and soloist Miloš Karadaglić back in Ottawa, followed by the orchestra’s European Tour, which includes concerts in London, Paris, Utrecht, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Gothenburg. 

In Malmo Alexander conducts Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade and Doreen Carwithen’s Bishop Rock Overture as well as the Swedish Premiere of Joseph Phibbs’ Clarinet Concerto, which will be interpreted by soloist Mark van de Wiel.
