Return to São PauloJuly 26, 2018
Next week Alexander Shelley returns to Brazil to perform two concerts with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra – one as part of the orchestra’s main series, the second at the Campos do Jordão International Winter Festival. Since its creation over 45 years ago, the Festival has become one of the largest and most important classical Festivals in Latin America. It brings together students, tutors and renowned professionals in Campos do Jordão, Brazil, offering an extensive program of concerts, most of them free, with the participation of renowned national and international artists, groups and some of the best orchestras in Brazil, at various venues around the city.
The programme features three “homages” – Schnittke’s homage to Mozart and Haydn, an homage to Haydn by Brahms, and finally a self-paid homage by R.Strauss.
