The National Arts Centre Orchestra’s 2017-2018 season opens in style this week, with legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman joining Alexander Shelley for a programme of virtuosic and sensuous music.
Beginning with the pomp and elegance of Richard Strauss’s Rosenkavalier Suite, the evening also includes Ravel’s ravishing 1920 score “La Valse”.
Itzhak Perlman, renowned for decades as one of the finest violinists in the world, brings his “Cinema Serenade” programme to the stage of Southam Hall, comprising many of his favourite themes from the silver screen. Highlights include Schindler’s List, Cinema Paradiso, Out of Africa and many more.
