NAC Orchestra's Canada 150 tour moves North

December 4, 2017

Following the highly successful Western leg of the NAC Orchestra’s Canada150 tour in November, during which they performed 7 concerts and hosted over 150 outreach and education events, Alexander Shelley and a group of musicians now head North, concluding the year long celebrations.

Beginning in Iqaluit and ending in Yellowknife, Alexander and the National Arts Centre Orchestra will give concerts and work in the community with arts leaders and musicians of all ages, building bridges and partnering with local institutions. Over the course of the last 12 months the Canada150 tour has reached 9 provinces and 3 territories, with the final concert coming in early spring in Quebec, at which point Alexander and the orchestra will have performed for and partnered with communities in all 13 provinces and territories.
