Ideas of North Festival at the NAC

Canada’s newly renovated National Arts Centre this week opens its doors for the NAC Orchestra’s “Ideas of North” festival, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Canadian confederation and the 100th anniversary of Finnish independence.

 

The festival, which runs from October 3rd – 14th, brings together music, architecture, digital installations and culinary arts for a fascinating perspective on the the North. Alexander Shelley and the NAC Orchestra will be joined by conductors Hannu Lintu and John Storgårds, soloists Yosuke Kawaski, Jonathan Crow, Angela Hewitt, Helena Juntunen, Karen Gomyo, by the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, by vocal group Rajaton, by the dancers of the Tero Saarinen Company  dancers and many others.
