Alexander Shelley’s latest series with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra kicks off at Cadogan Hall this Thursday evening in a concert featuring cellist Kian Soltani.

Every season, Alexander curates a new series of concerts with the RPO at their home in Chelsea and this year he focuses in closely on the lives and times of three composers: Shostakovich, Wagner and Lili Boulanger.

Entitled Composer360°, the series seeks to place masterpieces from each of these musicians at the core of programmes that also highlight the other music that was being written at the time, music that influenced the works in question and how they in turn impacted later generations.

As always Alexander will guide the audience through the concerts from the stage, connecting the works together and giving context to help engage with the music.
