On July 1st, 152 years of confederation are celebrated with Canada Day festivities across the nation. Leading up these events is the Noon Hour Concert on Parliament Hill, directly in front of the Canadian seat of government, which is broadcast to an estimated 3 million people across the country.
Alexander Shelley and the National Arts Centre Orchestra will be on stage for the entire concert, supporting great Canadian pop acts such as K’naan, Marie Mai, T. Thomason, Alan Doyle, Karim Ouellet and Shawnee, and will also perform one of their signature commissions ‘My Name is Amanda Todd’.
The festivities, attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, will be broadcast live from 12:00 onwards on July 1st. Click here to enjoy the CBC’s coverage.
